RS Components and Allied Electronics are the trading brands of Electrocomponents plc, the world’s leading high service distributor of electronics and maintenance products.
The UK sales team launched a new sales and capability training programme with an aim to maximise growth through structured planning and targeted calls to retailers. In addition to providing a structured approach, the course aimed to inspire and motivate the sales team to be empowered and engaged; changing their mind-set from “I do what I am told” to “I am ready to prioritise and maximise growth”.
Bean Solutions was briefed to propose analogies and ideas that can be used throughout the training course to support this change in mind-set.
Based on the sales team demographic, a parallel of Golf was used to create an inspiring video that motivated and engaged with the sales team in understanding the importance of a structured selling approach. The video highlighted all the steps of the call using the 2010 Ryder Cup to bring this to life. Demonstrating that all successes have a structure and focus in order to get to the desired goal.
